Marketing dizziness — Kelford Labs Daily
One direction, not all directions.
When I check in on someone who’s been struggling with their marketing, I rarely hear things like:
“I’ve been patiently trying things out, measuring the results, and adjusting as needed. But it’s still not working!”
What I tend to hear instead is:
“I tried a bunch of things, none of it worked, so I’m taking a break from it.”
In other words, they spun around in a circle so fast they got dizzy and had to sit down.
Does that sound like something you’ve been through before? Have you ever gotten so frustrated with your marketing that you just needed to step away from it?
The problem is, as you already know, that just makes it worse.
The key is to keep going, which means not making yourself dizzy.
Which means trying something, giving it time to work, and then slowly adjusting based on feedback from the market, not just the anxious thoughts in your mind.
Don’t get caught up in the activity of it all, get focused on the strategy. On the structure.
On the slow, simple, steady steps in a single direction.
When you do that, your marketing tends to work better because you’re consistently working at your marketing.
Instead of spinning around, feeling woozy, and sitting down.
