The one that creates the most value.

Which service to focus your marketing on — Kelford Labs Daily

Let me ask you something:

Of all the services or products you might sell or provide, which single one, if removed, would eliminate most of your value?

Really think about it.

Which service or product is the one that holds or creates your business’s primary value? The one that, if it suddenly disappeared or you suddenly stopped selling it, would end up taking away all or most of your revenue, profit, or satisfaction with your work?

Did something come to mind?

Now, second question:

Is this service or product the one you’re focusing most of your marketing efforts on?

I hear and see entrepreneurs struggling with the question of what to focus their marketing on all the time.

“Should we focus on this service, this other one, or maybe this third one we just thought up?”

And they can spin round and round in ever-expanding circles, just getting dizzier and dizzier, and not getting any closer to an answer.

So if you’re also struggling with what to focus your marketing on, what particular service or product to put your efforts behind, this is where you start:

With the part of your business delivering the most value to your best clients.

It’s that simple, and it’s that difficult. Because it means deprioritizing other services, other products, other marketing tactics.

Maybe even ones you liked or had built high hopes around.

But your clients are already telling you what they value by buying it from you. Your marketing will be most successful when it aligns with the value they see.

And that starts by asking yourself:

What could go away and take everything else with it?
