Daily Lab: Your 2-minute content strategy
Let’s build a content strategy together in the minute or two it takes to read this newsletter.
Let’s build a content strategy together in the minute or two it takes to read this newsletter.
First, we’ll start with an example goal, like, “I want to teach people about my unique perspective so they’ll be more likely to buy from my business.”
Now, with your goal in mind, think of how content could provide value to you, even if nobody else ever notices it.
Example: It forces you to articulate your unique perspective, and it encourages you to focus on your areas of most unique value.
Then, think of how content could provide value to the person who notices it, even if they never actually buy from you.
Example: They receive knowledge they can use to grow their own abilities, or they’re inspired to try something new in their life or work.
Next, think of a type of content you could happily make forever, even if nobody ever noticed it.
Example: Maybe you love writing. Maybe you’ve always wanted to spend more time editing video. Perhaps you just love having conversations with knowledgable peers.
Now, where do your goal, the value to you, the value to the audience, and long-term sustainability overlap?
Examples: Is it a podcast with a weekly industry guest diving into deep insights that levels up your own expertise?
Is it a daily newsletter that helps the reader set their mind in helpful way that forces you to communicate more succinctly about your expertise?
Is it short format video that lets the viewer pass the time productively that helps you stay on top of media trends that affect your business?
With this combination, you know you can stick with it.
You know you can build an audience that will appreciate your value.
And you know that you can increase that value, every single day, all at the same time.
For as long as you want to.
So, what’s your 2-minute content strategy?
