5 Questions to Ask

Testing your intro copy — Kelford Labs Daily

Let’s test out your website’s intro copy. That first paragraph or opening few lines that says what you do and who you do it for.

Often, these can be a bit vague, or unfocused, or too broadly applicable to too many different customer types.

So let’s run through these questions to make sure yours is as effective as it can be:

1) Does it address your ideal customers specifically?

If not, why would they trust you to know how to help them?

2) Does it speak to the most urgent need you can help with?

If not, why would they buy now?

3) Does it use their own words?

If not, are you actually curious about them?

4) Does it suggest a tradeoff?

If not, are you wasting resources on things they don’t value?

5) Does it stick in the mind?

If not, how will they remember you when they need you?

In tomorrow’s Kelford Labs Weekly, we’ll explore each of these points one by one, with examples.
