What I’m working on this year — Kelford Labs Daily

It’s weird how a meal can taste differently depending on how it’s presented.

Like, if I plate up a beautiful dish and present it to you on an elegant tablecloth it will taste better than if I unceremoniously dump it into a bowl and slide it to you across the counter.

Same food, different experience.

Likewise, our marketing and presentation makes our customers experience our services differently.

Services presented lazily, hazily, or arbitrarily will feel worse than services presented elegantly, creatively, and specifically.

Presentation can’t make up for bad quality, but it makes good quality look good. It makes excellent services appealing, interesting, and attractive.

So we’ve got to ask ourselves, “Does the presentation of my work signal to my best customers that I care a lot about how they experience it? Or does it signal that I think the work should speak for itself?”

I’m enormously proud of the quality of our work, but I’m less confident in the way the work looks.

So, this year, I’m investing more energy, more time, and more money into making sure our services are presented more beautifully, more appealingly, and more clearly.

My 2025 project is making sure our services look as good as they work.
